This reminds me of a famous Gary Larson comic--the picture
of a student trying to push open the door to a school that has a sign
saying "school for the gifted". The joke is that the door is
labled with "pull" while the kid is pushing with all his
might.
Since the analogy of entering through a door is often used when
referring to the inner spiritual process, I think this cartoon
demonstrates the various forms of "willfulness.
Willful forcing of the door will not work. But will, intention,
choice is required to arrive at the doorway. Will, intention, choice is
also required to "not push". The inner door not only cannot be
opened by pushing but also has no handle for pulling. Intention is
required to go through the doorway but also surrender, acceptance--an
intentional surrender to allow the door to open to you.
Have fun!
